Build your own ai assistant on your Mac, with Claude.
You're paying for Claude, and you still start every chat by explaining who you are and what you're working on. In one live hour on Zoom, you'll set up an assistant on your own Mac that already knows, and you'll build one skill with it that you'll use the next day.

What you leave with.
- An assistant that knows your context. It lives on your Mac, so you stop explaining yourself from scratch.
- One skill you'll use tomorrow. A skill is a saved set of instructions for a job you do over and over.
- A roadmap of what to build next. The list you write on paper holds more than one hour can build, so you leave with your own list of what your assistant can take on next, and how to build it.
How the hour goes.
- We set up the basics together. Your assistant gets a home on your Mac and learns your role, what's on your plate, and how you like things done.
- You plan on paper. You write down what you want your assistant to do for you.
- We build it. What you wrote becomes your assistant's first skill.
What you need.
- A Mac, ideally. Windows works with some translating.
- A paid Claude plan. Your assistant lives in a folder on your Mac, and the free plan can't open folders.
- The Claude desktop app. You'll get the install steps after you pay.
- Something to write on. Paper, a notebook, or a tablet works.
- Your list of what's on your plate this week. Your first skill comes from it.
Questions people ask.
Do I need to be technical?
No. You don't need to know how to code. I walk you through each step, and you build alongside me.
Can I join on Windows?
Yes, you can. I work on a Mac, so that's what I demo. On Windows, some steps will need translating, and I won't be able to demo those or stop to troubleshoot Windows during the hour.
Do I need a paid Claude plan?
Yes. Your assistant lives in a folder on your Mac, so it can read your files and keep them up to date, and the free plan can't open folders. I use the Code tab in the Claude desktop app, and that's what I demo.
Do I need to install anything?
Yes, the Claude desktop app. After you pay, you'll get the steps, so you can install it before the session and we can start building right away.
Is the session recorded?
No. It's live only.
How is this different from your office hours?
Office hours are free, and they're for questions. This hour is for building, so you leave with your assistant working on your own Mac.
How do I pay?
Pay with a card through Stripe. Right after you pay, you'll register for the Zoom session, and I'll approve your registration so Zoom can send you the join link.
Why I teach this.
I run my own life and work with a Claude setup I call friday. It has assistants for my dissertation, my fitness, my kitchen, and my content. What I get from it is being able to sort of physically pick up and review threads, and how it lets my brain jump around without losing ideas. My brain does jump around, and now the ideas stay where I can find them. I've had a couple of folks ask about this, so I thought, why not see if other people are interested too?
Save your seat.
It's $75. After you pay, you'll register for the Zoom session, and Zoom sends you the join link once I approve you.
Do you have a question first? Bring it to office hours (opens in a new tab), free, every Wednesday.
