Once your team’s current state is clear, pinpoint a small, meaningful improvement that aligns with their goals.

INTERPLAY MAPPING
If the risks outweigh the potential benefits, this is a valid point to pause. Deciding not to move forward is still a valuable outcome—it prevents wasted time on changes that won’t stick.
To learn from this experiment, we need to track its impact.
🔹 Use lightweight feedback loops. A quick anonymous survey, a Miro board with open reflections, or a short Slack thread can capture insights without adding work.
🔹 Check for engagement, not just compliance. Are people actively adopting the change, or just tolerating it?
🔹 Be ready to iterate. Not all experiments will work perfectly. If results are mixed, refine instead of abandoning.
Not all metrics are useful. Some create unintended consequences by incentivizing behaviors that don’t align with the team’s goals. Limiting to three core metrics ensures focus and avoids diminishing returns.

This level of detail may feel overwhelming at first. As the team becomes more familiar with running experiments, documentation becomes more streamlined and intuitive. The goal is to build muscle memory around thoughtful practice evolution, not create bureaucracy.
